it's okay but a joke compared to many Scotch malts. that's Merica, kids !!!

Discovering Westward was certainly a treat, and their newest expression lives up to the standard. The stout finish really boosts a lot of the roasted notes, the subtle chocolate notes evolved into a silky milk chocolate, the stone fruit nites remained and are more robust. A fun Whiskey to unfold over some ice. Cheers!

I have loved cask finish whiskeys from other producers, so I was expecting to like this one but honestly, I was blown away when I tasted this. I now have to have this whiskey in stock at all times and bring it out when I want something delicious to sip on. I get some coffee notes, think that is from the stout, but it is just so well rounded and tasty! I would highly recommend this to all whiskey lovers!

I was introduced to Westward Whiskey when I visited the distillery in Portland, OR. I was first impressed with the knowledgeable and passionate staff; then I was floored by how incredible their whiskey is. I have always been a fan of malt whiskey and appreciate how balanced and complex Westward is. Its BOLD, with just the right amount of SWEETNESS and SPICE but it doesn't stop there, FRUITY, FLORAL and EARTHY! Be still my heart, this is my favorite whiskey! The Oregon Stout Cask has notes of roasted malt and chocolate, with a beautiful dry finish, a bit more subtle than their core expression, but every bit as delicious! I even joined their Whiskey Club and now have access to rare, special releases. Each quarterly release is better than the last, I can't wait to see what's next for Westward Whiskey!
