The 2023 Titus Andronicus Napa Red Wine is versatile for any occasion or setting. The Titus Winery in Napa Valley has been my go-to for over 20 years. Often when Napa Valley comes to mind it is associated with luxury and extravagant price points. Titus Winery has been able to improve quality and exceed expectations at the same time keeping their price points well in check and accessible for the masses. The Andronicus is their gateway wine to elegance while still being accessible to all. This year’s blend is comprised of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petite Sirah, and 6% Merlot.
The Titus Andronicus red wine from 2023 over delivers with aromatics and flavor. The nose is full of ripe plum, blackberry compote, Bing cherry, cherry pie, and a subtle vermouth character. Cocoa nib, espresso, and café crème oak notes complement the fruit characters. The palate is highly structured with velvety tannins and moderate acidity. The finish is smooth and with dark fruit flavors that linger on the palate. This wine begs for grilled Ribeye steak, Filet or Lamb chops. Cheers, Robert
