I found it kind of boring compared to other bourbons I tried at the same time. Smooth, with little burn and just some oakyness. Longbranch, also from wild turkey, was more interesting, having some toasted spice notes. Angel's envy private select at 55 abv is definitely better for twice the price. If you’re lucky you could find some Maker's mark private selection at a similar price to Russell's reserve that's far superior.
Russell's Reserve is one of the best buys and values in bourbon out there today. I held off for a while since I don't like WT or WT 101, but this is more like a peacock than a turkey. Pick one up today!
