We struck our best deal of the year just in time for Father’s Day. While supplies last we are offering this wine to you at an astonishing price. We have been longtime fans of famed winemaker Tony Biaggi. Tony’s hands have crafted such notable wine such as Hourglass, Amici, Cade, Sinegal and many more. Patria, which stands for Homeland, is Tony’s label and passion project. What has always driven me to this wine aside from the winemaking is the fruit source. Oakville Ranch sits in one of my favorite pockets in all of Napa Valley. It sits on the eastern foothills of the Famed Oakville AVA located on the Vaca Mountain Range. Known for its volcanic soils and signature red dirt, this corner of the Valley is home to nearby neighbors like Dalla Valle, Vine Cliff, Peter Michaels Au Paradis Vineyard and Turnbull’s Leopoldina Vineyard. This is one of the priciest pockets in Napa Valley. A few hundred yards away below these foothills are Screaming Eagle, Rudd, and Bond’s St. Eden Vineyard.
The 2022 Patria Avoyelles has all that you’d expect from a premiere Oakville wine. A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot display both structure and finesse.
93 Points Vinous, Antonio Galloni
“The 2022 Avoyelles is a very pretty, soft wine. Crushed flowers, mint, espresso, blood orange, spice and pomegranate all grace this attractive mid-weight wine. Enticing floral top notes lift the finish. This is nicely done.” (AG)
95 Points Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
“The 2022 Avoyelles Oakville Ranch—a blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in 100% new French oak—boasts enticing floral accents to its black cherry fruit. It's full-bodied but somehow light on its feet, finishing with silky, fine-grained tannins and hints of licorice. 200 cases produced.”
