To spritz or not to spritz?
Ladies and gentlemen, we are about to wrap up summer 2026! For some of us that has meant a nice vacation, for some of us that has meant staving off the California heat with beach days and sitting in front of the A/C vent. Either way we could all use a drink that brings the chill with it.
Whether you’re a mimosa person or you’ve decided to try something more adventurous involving brightly colored aperitifs, there’s no denying that nothing beats a good spritz. We get questions all the time about the best sparkling wine to make these drinks with, and my go to is a good prosecco. That brings us to Nino Franco who has a family history in Italian wines that goes back to 1919.
This wine is perfect for sprtiz-ing. It’s got a beautiful nose of stone fruit and flowers, a great green apple zip on the palate and amazing strong tiny bubbles that will hold up to mixing. While this prosecco would be fantastic on its own, it would shine in a big glass with a fancy umbrella as part of your favorite summer concoction. Serve with a fresh salad or a plate of fresh fruit for the perfect way to lean in to the end of summer!
