this is a lame product i hate it
Product was great,it was as good if not better than the first time I drank it.
The flavor is smooth with delightful after notes. Only wish we could find another bottle.

WHY: Often considered the Pepsi of Japanese whisky to Suntory’s Coke, Nikka is Japan’s second largest whisky producer, known for its rich and layered whiskies of finesse. The Nikka Coffey Grain whisky is full of coconut, vanilla, and rich oak flavors that leave you wanting more after every sip. While not as supple as Nikka's single malt expressions, the Coffey Grain has been a huge hit with whisky lovers who are learning more about the merits of grain whisky.
HOW: Nikka's grain whisky is distilled in its famed Coffey still at Miyagikyo, having been imported from Scotland in 1963. Made with unmalted grains (corn, wheat, unmalted barley), the grain whisky is usually blended with single malt to create a blended whisky, but Nikka also bottles its grain whisky as a solo expression.
WHAT: Nikka was founded in 1940 by Masataka Taketsuru, after having overseen construction of Japan’s first whisky distillery: Yamazaki. Taketsuru was sent to Scotland in 1918 to learn about single malt production, and spent his time interning at the Hazelburn Distillery in Campbeltown. After working a ten year contract with Suntory, he left to build the Yoichi Distillery in 1934. Nikka owns and operates two distilleries: Yoichi Distillery on the island of Hokkaido, and the Miyagikyo Distillery in Sendai. In addition to single malt production, the Miyagikyo Distillery has a large Coffey column still used to make grain whisky for blending, as well as gin and vodka.

A delight! Very unique in so many ways… a pleasure both on the nose and the palate.
Everything was great. I did order something that showed in stock but after completing purchase and getting to shipping one of three was not available. Then the adjusted pricing was in error. They fixed it and I received the other two products on time. Wish the site wouldn’t show products that weren’t available at time of purchase.
This is Japanese Whisky at it's finest. All the qualities of fine distillation and blending processes brought together in a fantastic expression of what the Japanese excel at, the details. Everything from the nose, to the pallet, to the finish are high quality. If you like American Bourbon, this is the Japanese Whisky you should search out and try. It's absolutely wonderful neat, but opens up even more over a stone or ice, and ultimately will make one of the best old fashioned cocktails around, especially with Orange Bitters. The citrus notes that are present come through strong, and every detail of the slightly longer than average finish, bring together an old fashioned perfectly. The coffey still production is used to perfection here. One of my favorite bottles, and it regularly is in my bar.
