The nose of this Bourbon is truly something to savor: buttered popcorn, root beer, and caramel come leaping out of the glass, intoxicating your nose with the heady aromas of a local carnival. The palate showcases more of those same characteristics, but bolsters them with rye spice, toasted oak, and some heat at 110.4 proof. The combination of sweet Crackerjacks with the herbaceous notes of the rye play beautifully with one another, leading to a big Sarsaparilla finish with some underlying red fruit tones. All in all, it’s one of the most enjoyable New Riff whiskies we’ve tasted in some time and one of the most flavor-packed single barrels we’ve ever selected from any producer. It’s gonna be a big hit.
