Started by Ken Lewis, a visionary Kentucky liquor retailer and entrepreneur, New Riff is led by a team of corporate refugees ranging from craft beer to politics and more. Family-owned and operated, the independence from corporate influence has given New Riff the freedom from outside pressures to make an unforeseen declaration for quality: for perhaps the first time since the inception of the Bottled in Bond Act in 1897, a Kentucky sour mash whiskey distillery has committed itself exclusively to that quality standard, the world’s highest—with zero chill-filtration. The New Riff Bottled In Bond Bourbon uses a mashbill of 65% corn, 30% rye, and 5% malted barley to craft a creamy, yet spicy 100 proof whiskey at a price that's more than fair. Excellent new BIB.

I read a good review in Breaking Bourbon and got the opportunity to try it. Excellent BIB - fine nose, smooth palate with a long satisfying finish. One of the few new BIB's I've tried that's actually worth the money, right up there with EH Taylor, possibly a little better. Highly recommend.

Great BIB Bourbon

New Riff is one of the few smaller "craft" distillers that knows what they're doing. This is an all around excellent bourbon, with a great profile, integrity bottling, nice presentation, and fair price.
