Drinkable but missing something

The Wee Witchie as it's lovingly called, is very drinkable. It's distilled 2.81 times (the .81 times through is because of how they re-direct the liquid in the last time through), so it's not quite a triple distilled Irish Whiskey, but it's also not traditionally how scotch is distilled. I wish that really made a big difference in flavor, but it really didn't. It's a good, drinkable 12 year scotch, that has a rather short finish to it. It's not bad, but also nothing to get excited about. The box it comes in, does have a really cool explanation of the whole distillation process, including a diagram, which makes for good conversations over the bottle with friends, but in the end, the Balvenie 12 year double wood, is just a better liquid than this, for the same price. If you want the box, though, definitely get this, as it's fun to see how they process it.
