Whether it’s an official Van Winkle, or just a standard Weller 90 proof, it’s clear that the sweetness and punch of a good wheated Bourbon still carries water in our market. Knowing that Buffalo Trace’s offerings are almost impossible to find still, we nabbed a similar specimen from Kentucky’s other favorite Bourbon distillery: Heaven Hill. 8 years old and bottled at a whopping 63.95%, this Bourbon has the creamy, rounded, sweet flavor profile that people go crazy for. We bought it earlier this year, but it’s almost gone now. It’s the ultimate digestive after a filling Thanksgiving dinner! Nothing like 127+ proof to cut through all the turkey and stuffing!
