A departure from the typically lightly peated single malt, the Heavily Peated Kilkerran is released twice per year at cask strength and around 45PPM. Although the maturation can vary, it is typically matured predominantly in Bourbon casks.
Nose: Creamy butterscotch and notes of banana fritters and elderflower kick off this heavily peated dram
Palate: The peat smoke on the palate is complemented by notes of honeydew melon and Iberico ham
Finish: The smoke continues in the finish along with notes of verbena and honeycomb

Put this in a blind against Old Forester 1924. The King of Kentucky lost by a significant margin.. The KOK was mediocre at best. Ethanol with a little flavor.
Mission has great ‘exclusive’ selections and this Cazcanes is truly on point.
