High West is Utah’s first distillery, born in 1879. One taste of this sweet, spicy and, yes, smoky whiskey, and you’ll know how High West Campfire got its name. This fine 92-proof whiskey blends bourbon, rye, and peated scotch whiskey and is aged in white oak barrels as well as second-use bourbon barrels. It contains flavors of vanilla, honey, nutmeg, cinnamon, blueberries, and black cherries with a sweet, spicy, and smoky finish. Ideal for a Manhattan, High West whiskey has a balanced body that is an ideal addition to countless cocktail recipes.

You definitely understand fully why the bottle has the name of Campfire when you open it. You can smell the smoke that comes out. When you taste it, it's even more pronounced, as the wood and smoke are totally present in the first taste. The finish is better than you anticipate as the smoke fades, and the bourbon barrel finishing really comes through, with lingering sweetness that keeps it from being too smoky. It's like you just charred the outside of your marshmellow when you were making smores, and you decided to pull off the black outer layer and eat that on its own. You get the carbon smoke at first, but the sweetness is still there, and once you bite through that blackened outside, the inside is what you were expecting. This is how Campfire sits in your mouth. You get all that smoke up front, but with a delicious end to sip.
