Hardin's Creek is a series of rare and innovative whiskey releases from James B. Beam Distilling Co., built on 228 years and eight generations of bourbon-making expertise. Launched in 2022, the brand honors Jacob Beam's 1795 legacy while pushing the boundaries of American whiskey through innovative annual releases. Identical mashbills were placed in different warehouses across our Clermont Campus, each with its own height, age, and microclimate. For Series Release 1, after aging for over 11 years, the distinct notes of char, oak and subtle sweetness emerge. This release is matured in Warehouse R, a low, one-story structure with no windows and a consistently cool and dark environment, the kind of environment where something rare like the Witch's Hat mushroom might thrive. The namesake of this innovative bourbon. In Series Release 2, this release offers lighter notes of oak and smoke, with a distinctive aromatic sweetness. This Release is matured in Warehouse W, sturdy in its Creekside location. Its dense, five-floor construction enveloped in the humidity of the surrounding area, summons the imagination of the North American Beaver, the namesake of this innovative bourbon. Series release 3 has an unmatched complexity, balancing notes of oak, char and sweet aromatics owing to its distinctive maturation process, aging for over 11 years, resulting in its distinctive, rich flavor. This release matured in Warehouse G. At nine-floors high, Warehouse G is a rarity, boasting a towering view that evokes the images of a Great Horned Owl, soaring high above the forest's canopy.

Its okay

Now to start i am a huge Jim Beam fan and Wild Turkey guy and i enjoy most of everything they have to offer. Now i get the reason and the process’s of releasing these bottles but in my humble opinion i do not think its worth $150. This bottle didn’t blow me away in any sense especially for the money because i expected it to blow me away if im spending $150 for one bottle. Its more of an elevated Knob Creek 12, which is a good bottle but is it $150 good? No. I would say if you want to try it, shoot for it but don’t expect $150 juice. Again i am a JB fan but i think this may be a flop. I would happily pay maybe $70-80 for it. For the money i spent i could have gotten 2-3 WT Rare Breeds and be satisfied in what i spent. This isn’t a bash on Mission Wine and Spirits because i love the place and have gotten many bottles from them, just an honest review.
