- HOW: Glenlivet finished a portion of whisky in used Caribbean rum barrels, imparting flavors of molasses and caramel into the whisky. The result is a well balanced and exceptionally smooth whisky.
- WHAT: Originally founded in 1824, Glenlivet was purchased by Pernod-Ricard from Seagram’s in 2001, as part of a deal for Chivas Brothers and all of the distilleries associated with the blended whisky. It sits in the Speyside region of Scotland and is currently the country’s largest single malt distillery. Despite its growing size, the distillery’s fourteen pairs of pot stills are continuously churning out some of the most consistent and tasty malt whisky in the world. That scale allows Glenlivet to offer more competitive pricing for such a high quality product. Bottled at 40% ABV.
