A wild spirit

I'm not sure I'm ready for Fernet-Branca. I've had it neat, on ice, with espresso, with gin, and in a Toronto. It's kind of like a melted Ricola cough drop in a glass with a very pronounced bitter kick, intense menthol and a strong alcohol undercurrent. I'm looking for a combination of other ingredients to let it shine in all its intensity. Maybe the Fernando, from the bar Employee's Only, is the answer, but I need to get my hands on a bottle of Galliano to see.
