Stefan Wellanschitz (of Kolfok fame) brings a blend of Rotburger and Blaufrankisch. The Rotburger is from slate and gravel soils at the base of the Hochberg Mountain in Neckenmarkt. The Blaufrankisch comes from the town where Stefan grew up, vines range from 10-35 years old grown in iron rich soils. It is fermented in stainless steel and raised in 1500-3000 large used Austrian barrels. As always minimal intervention, native yeasts, no fining and minimal sulphur.
