The tasting notes on this bottle read as if it's a $100 bottle. With just the right amount of peat for an entry level scotch, but the sweetness of the first and second fill Sherry casks it's aged in come through wonderfully in the finish. This bottle tastes significantly more refined than the $40 price point it's typically found at. I could drink this every day, and still enjoy the bottle regularly, as it allows fans of peat to have just enough of it on the tongue that they won't complain, while still keeping the Sherry monster fans involved with the sweet finish. It's so well rounded, I would even give it to a beginner Schotch drinker, as the peat doesn't overpower any part of the flavor of the rest of the liquid. You even get all the subtle hints of the salty sea air that Bunnahabhain is known for. They did a terrific job in creating a non-age statement bottle, that drinks much better than it should. Well worth having in your arsenal for hosting and would make a fine bottle to take to a friend's house to enjoy with a cigar or even a finely cooked meal. So versatile and yet tastes fantastic.
