A fabulous 25 year old BenRiach and peated too, which is unusual for a Speyside malt. This is the next step up after the lovely 21 year old Authenticus, offering up more complexity and power as well as oodles of smoke.
Nose - Tropical and fruit-filled with notes of tangy peat, pineapple, verbena, oily smoke and malt.
Palate - Very fruity and rich, with an explosion of peat smoke and dried herbs, a hint of fresh Provence Basil, a little pepper, cedar wood, honey and blossom.
Finish - Good length; fruity and rounded.
