HOW: Angel’s Envy transfers its mature Bourbon into used Port barrels for an additional 4 to 7 month maturation once the whiskey is ready. The influence of the Port residue is what gives the Bourbon its extra richness.
WHAT: While Angel’s Envy now has an operational distillery in Louisville, KY, the original recipe is a marriage of Bourbons purchased and contracted from other distilleries. Originally founded by Woodford Reserve creator Lincoln Henderson, the brand is carried on today by his son Wes. Angel's Envy Bourbon is bottled at 43% ABV.
TASTE: Subtle notes of vanilla on the nose with raisins, maple syrup and toasted nuts. Vanilla and ripe fruit on the palate with maple syrup, toast, and bitter chocolate. A clean and lingering sweetness on the finish with a hint of Madeira that slowly fades.
