The blend—primarily Cabernet Sauvignon with touches of Merlot and Cabernet Franc—is fermented with native yeasts and undergoes spontaneous malolactic fermentation in barrel, then aged for 18 months in French oak, 29% of which is new, and bottled unfined to preserve purity and texture. Sourced exclusively from select blocks of the Nathan Coombs Estate in Coombsville, Napa Valley, the vineyard’s Haire loam and volcanic soils, combined with sustainable hand-farming on gently sloped terrain, yield fruit of remarkable depth and character. In the glass, the wine reveals a vibrant magenta hue and a layered profile of red cherry, black raspberry, wild herbs, and dark cacao, framed by fine-grained tannins, fresh acidity, and a signature graphite finish that speaks to its cool-climate, volcanic origins.
