This whisky owes its richness and intensity to its full double sherry finish. It draws a strong influence from both Spanish oak oloroso and Pedro Ximinéz sherry butts.

Color: Auburn gold

Nose: Rich notes of ripe fruit, orange zest, toffee buns, and plum jam

Palate: Rich and fruity with notes of apricot, chocolate coated raisins, liquorice root, and freshly grated nutmeg

Finish: Long and complex, with lasting sweetness

I think overall this is a great whiskey, nice sherry, complex, bright but for the price I may think the 16 In my opinion might be the better option for me next time

The Aberlour 12 is very good, the 16 is very, very good and the 18 is the best I have tasted. One of the best Speysides you can buy.
