We know how much our customers love these 130+ proof single barrels from Brown-Forman’s Old Forester label, which is why we continue to ask for samples from the upper warehouse floors. 

The higher the barrel is stored in the rick house, the hotter the temperatures get. The hotter the climate, the greater the evaporation of the cask. In those conditions, barrels will often increase in ABV, leading to mature Bourbon specimen like the one we have to show you today: our Mission single barrel 130.4 proof cask strength edition!

Sourced from the 7th floor of warehouse number 6, this blistering Bourbon packs an incredible combination of power and punch, but also richness and supreme concentration. Loads of vanilla, charred oak, coffee bean, mocha, dried fruits, and more, swirl across the palate at a whopping 65.2% ABV. 

An ice cube does absolute wonders to this whiskey on a hot day like today. 

Cooling down the Bourbon with water brings out the oils and increases the viscosity. You get more creme brulée and peanut brittle notes, but there’s still plenty of grit. Hazmat fans will love this one.
