Cimarrón Tequila from Atotonilco, Jalisco is distilled from hillside agave grown at 4,620′ elevation, where plant sugars reach an average of 24-26° Brix. A low-pressure, slow agave roast creates Cimarrón’s bright, forward flavor, and fermentation is entirely natural using winemakers’ yeast.

Cimarron Tequila Blanco

Very smooth tequila. An easy budget sipper or good for shots. It’s balanced on its own so it can get easily overpowered by lime juice in the standard ratios used for a regular or Tommy’s margarita of 2 oz tequila, 1 oz lime juice, and 0.5 oz agave nectar. However if you cut back the lime juice to to 0.5 oz instead of 1 oz it allows the cooked agave notes of the tequila to shine.

Worth noting that this is an additive free tequila, made in a creative way to keep the price low (wine yeast to ferment, column still vs. Pot still, no extra water added using a special pressing method, etc. according to tequila matchmakers webpage).

Not terribly impressed with this tequila. It is called for in a lot of recipes but prefer others.
