Made from 85% Mencia, along with a touch of Tintorera and Palomino—best showcases the insane value of these 100% organic expressions. The wine is robust, supple, juicy, concentrated with ripe red berry fruit, but counterbalanced by tannins and acidity with just a touch of earth. With 75 year old vines, the red wines from Casa Aurora are like Spain’s version of an old vine California Zinfandel, but with less alcohol and more elegance. Think Pinot Noir meets Grenache.
