Louis Martini Napa Cabernet Sauvignon Lot No.1 2014
92-94 PTS - ROBERT PARKER - "A barrel sample of the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Lot 1 showed some of the loftiest alcohol of any vintage Louis Martini has produced (15.8%). Production was large since California, as most people have indicated, has been on a qualitative and quantitative roll from the 2012, through 2013 and 2014 (2015 yields dropped dramatically ending the bumper-crop scenarios). This wine is a beauty and has all the characteristics that will make the best 2014s so alluring. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that will be aged nearly 22 months total in 97% new French oak, the wine has that lushness, that upfront beautiful flavor of spring flowers, tobacco leaf, lead pencil shavings and blue and black fruits. Soft, supple, plush tannins and a wonderful, savory, expansive mouthfeel, this is a generously endowed, delicious wine that will drink fabulously well when released, and age well for at least two decades."
