Glen Scotia's annual limited edition Festival Single Malt Scotch whisky bottlings are intriguing, bold, and appeal to those looking to be wonderfully surprised.
This year's release is no exception; a heavy peated sprit distilled in 2013 and matured for seven and a half years in 1200% first fill bourbon barrels, before a twelve month finish in the finest first fill Pedro Ximenes hogsheads.
Glen Scotia's signature sea spray can be detected on the nose, with a gentle smoke reminiscent of a fading bonfire on a Campbeltown beach. Runny treacle, rich spices and an underlying peat influence come together in harmonious celebration. A true taste of Campeltown, there is a touch of salinity and maritime nuances throughout.
