Foley Johnson Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 750ml
91 PTS – JAMES SUCKLING – “A red with lots of iodine, stone, currant and spice character. It’s full-bodied, chewy and juicy. I like this slightly better than the Estate Bottled in 2010. Needs at least three or four years to soften: better in 2006.”'
Dark garnet in color, this wine is filled with aromas of blackberry, barrel toast, and black and red peppercorn floral notes are first to climb from the glass. The very cool vintage that was the 2010 is apparent in this beauty’s slight reticence at first. With a short decanting, it hits full stride, revealing the potential for immediate enjoyment as well as giving hints of what’s to come with several more years of cellaring. The mouth is compact like a hard candy that needs to be rolled around a while to expose the many layers of fruit, spice, smoke, and dried flowers.”
