MISSION NOTES: One of our favorite certified-biodynamic Pinot Noirs from anywhere, the 2021 Burn Cottage Moonlight Race sources fruit from two vineyard sites in Central Otago—each with roughly 20 year old vines—all of it hand-harvested and cared for with grace. It’s aged for 12 months in French Oak before bottling entirely unfiltered and unfined, giving it a potency and concentration that is unparalleled for the price. At under $40, we’re very competitive with this wine because we’re excited for people to try it. This is $46-$50 just about anywhere else you go.
96 POINTS: JAMES SUCKLING - Lots of boysenberry and strawberry aromas and flavors with an underlying smoky and mineral edge. It’s full and layered with beautiful tannins and a long and flavorful finish. A little tight at the end. Gorgeous and curated. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
