“2016 has been a tumultuous year to say the very least. However, there are just some things you cannot deny, and that’s good wine. We are very fortunate that we love what we do for a living. We want to make sure you folks reap the benefits as well. Since this will be our last wine bar tasting of the year, we’ve picked some really choice wines that are must try and/or add to your holiday wish list. Favorite Sparkling:
2013 Migration Chardonnay

Beautiful aromatic notes of fresh flowers, lychee, white peach and pear make this wine irresistible. The delicate nose belies the round, full palate and exceptionally creamy finish.

Favorite Screw Top:
2013 Robert Craig Mt. George Cuvee
The Mt. George Cuvee combines fine barrel lots of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc drawn from the Napa Valley program. Harmonious, deep and delicious, this blend is crafted to be enjoyed today with friends and family.

Favorite Varietal:
2012 Davis Estate Petit Verdot

Inky and elegantly mysterious, this wine defines unctuous with slight notes of licorice on the aroma preceding a palate full of ripe juicy fruit framed stylishly in oak. This is a wine full of complexity and just another sip enticing flavors and textures.

Favorite Wine for Various Food Pairings:
2010 Stefano Farina Barbaresco

This classic high standard Italian wine has a limited production and is ideally served with roast meats and game dishes. The wine is aged for several years in oak casks of Slavonic origin, and has a garnet red color with a shade of orange. An aroma of violets together with a generous and pleasing taste make this wine a unique experience. Better served after decanting and long breathing.

Favorite Blend:
2014 Trefethen Family Vineyards Dragon's Tooth
The alluring blend presents aromas of blackberry and cracked pepper, with hints of cinnamon and other baking spices. The palate features flavors of red currant and wood smoke leading to a long, elegant finish that would disarm the fiercest of dragons. Malbec brings color and diversity of fruit; Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon bring darker fruit and robust structure.

Amy's Favorite New Wine:
2013 Sinegal Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
95 PTS – ROBERT PARKER – “ The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. They make about 700 cases of this wine, which has an opaque purple color and offers up notes of pen ink, blueberry liqueur, creosote, camphor and incense. It displays a touch of smoky barrique, but is already irresistible in its fleshy, full-bodied opulence, power, purity and over all hedonistic and intellectual appeal. Drink it over the next 15+ years...” -RP
