Part of our ongoing series of exclusive Knob Creek single barrels named after the floor of the rick house where the cask was aged, coupled with its resulting core characteristic, we bring you the latest iteration: Sixth Floor Heat! The higher the barrel location in the rick, the hotter the temperatures, generally resulting in greater evaporation of water and a higher proof with intense concentration. While all Knob Creek single barrels are proofed down to 120 regardless of the initial cask strength, the intensity of this particular whiskey seemed to punch through more than the others. The oak and vanilla on the nose are front and center, like a one-two jab combination.
