  • HOW: Chivas re-barreled and finished its legendary blended whisky in American oak barrels previously used for rye whiskey, adding the sweetness of both the oak and the whiskey to the Scotch and imparting just a hint of rye spice in the process.
  • WHAT: The House of Chivas dates back to the early 1800s as a retail merchant, eventually adopting its namesake when James Chivas joined the operation in 1838. Now owned by Pernod-Ricard, Chivas operates 14 distilleries across Scotland and has access to incredible stocks to formulate its blends.

What a delicious finish of a decent blended scotch in Rye barrels. It was on sale so I just could not help myself but to stock up! Thanks again Mission Liquor!

Not what I expected

The product was decent whiskey, but I thought it would be as good as normal Chivas is. It was not. It was probably worth the 13 bucks per bottle I paid, but I would not buy it again.
